Every now and again you come across a business doing something special in your community. The core of their business may be fulfilling your personal and business banking needs, but they do it with a little extra flair.

Legacy Bank (downtown Wichita) is one of those businesses. It moved into the downtown area to be close to the surge of energy pouring into the core of the community, renovating a cool little branch in the west end of the Douglas Design District, right across the street from The Anchor, an iconic burger and beer bar.

But just being near the action doesn’t make you successful. Legacy Bank created the “Local Legacy” initiative, which rewards cardholders just for spending money with local merchants. It’s double good for our community!

“Supporting the local businesses that make our community unique means everything to us,” says Steven Suellentrop, Assistant VP of Commercial Lending at Legacy Bank and volunteer Promotions Co-Chair at Douglas Design District.

As the branch opened up, Steve was in contact with Reverie Roasters’ wholesale manager, Jason Hendry, to select a coffee service for the customers and employees of the branch.

“Reverie has such an impact on this city and their coffee is an absolute favorite among the locals so it was an easy decision for us to serve it up to our customers,” says Suellentrop. “Plus we know that every cup of coffee has been sourced and roasted to be the very best quality.”

Reverie is always looking for customers to provide specialty coffee services. There are many qualifications to consider, but no other customer quality is greater than displaying civic pride. Andrew Gough, Reverie Coffee Roasters’ owner, says, “It’s better to do business with those who care about the community and it’s a success as much as you do.”
