Thank you for a great run. While we are generally up for a good fight, we have grown much in our learning and decided we were not going to risk losing a battle that could inflict more harm on our growing business.
We take pride in the things we achieved at bethel college. We tidied up a tired cafe in much need of a coat of paint and dusting, updated the EQUIPMENT, and revamped a menu to include locally sourced ingredients, house-made just about everything, and of course, our trademarked specialty coffees and flavors.
But in the end, the community knows what it wants and we know who we are. It’s always important to listen to the wind and make difficult choices rather than get to deal with difficult decisions. And we’re not sad about getting to part ways on our terms and make room for an operator that is more understanding of the needs of this unique community. But perhaps we are a bit sad for the loss of our amazing staff members, a few of which we were unable to re-situate into our other operations.
Thank you for this opportunity! We are grateful to get to know this community better than we already did. And we are eager to continue to serve our growing Newton population in our busy drive thru cafe, located just about a mile south on 12th street.
