Sente: Games & Refreshments, located in Downtown Wichita, is breaking all the rules. I’m not speaking of the rules of the 200+ board games in their library. I’m speaking of the rules for where you would expect to find a unique business such as it.

Downtown Wichita has been somewhat of a ghost town after the business community heads home from a busy workday. But there has been a surge of what I refer to “suburban sprawl”, or resurgence back towards our city’s center, which is a good sign of an improving economy. Sente provides a centrally located venue for people from all over the city to meet to enjoy delicious coffee and bond playing board games.

Co-owner, Caitlin Doolittle, is a board game fanatic. If you didn’t find her working behind the bar making espresso-based drinks, she’d likely be at the table as a customer playing her favorite game, Near and Far.

Sente serves a variety of specialty coffee drinks, Italian sodas, baked goods, snacks and more. It pulls shots of Boneshaker, Reverie’s Flagship Espresso, and brews The Pope’s Choice, Reverie’s Flagship drip coffee. What makes Doolittle and her business partner, Thomas Koch, great partners in coffee for Reverie is their commitment to providing great products to their customers.

Coffee shops, such as Sente, play an important role in our community: they serve as a venue for people to connect over neutral, common interests. And many members of #TeamReverie enjoy regular gaming outings at Sente.
