These are the hands of Don Luis Sajar Umul, the man behind a special coffee called Pachup. Don Luis is over 80-years old and farms the same land his father and grandfather worked. His hope is that his children will want to do the same.

Guatemala Pachup, a new single-origin coffee offering at Reverie, comes from our close friends at Yepocapa Coffee, a small coffee importer specializing in premium Guatemalan specialty coffees. This washed coffee’s high acidity is really the highlight. It tastes of white grape, burnt caramel, and milk chocolate, and has a light body. At 1600+ meters, this coffee from the Yepocapa region is grown at relatively high elevation compared to other coffees nearby.

If coffee farming isn’t profitable, his family can’t continue this nearly 4 generation business. At Reverie, we are proud to serve this coffee knowing the money we invest goes to paying farmers above Fair Trade prices. Not only does their coffee taste great, but you get to feel better knowing these beans are part of something much bigger than “just another cup of coffee”.
